The Choice: Between Settling and Taking Risks

There's something you really want, but it's going to be difficult to achieve. Maybe it'll take a few years and more skills and expertise than you currently have. Then you are presented with an easier option, one that you can reach fairly quickly and easily, but it's not really what you wanted.

What option would you choose if you had the choice?

Would you take the safety of an income, profession and lifestyle, even though it meant that your had to settle?

Or would you risk it all for the path that you truly want to pursue?

Nothing worth having in life is easy, and often there's too much going on in your life for you to devote your energy towards fighting for Option A.

Sometimes you just have to take Option B and make the best of it. Hopefully it will help steer you towards Option A in the future.

Taking a leap into the unknown may be completely unsuitable depending on your life situation, or maybe you're just not ready to take that risk. It's all completely okay!

It may not even be a choice in the end, and you have to take what you can get. Whatever happens, use the experiences to work towards your goal. Although it may take awhile to get to your desired outcome; hard work and perseverance generally payoff, even if only years down the track.

Keep fighting! Option B isn't the end, just a different path.

Peace and Happiness

It's Sunday morning and I found a beautiful cafe by the water. It's quiet here, and there is only one other customer on the deck. The blue water is still, and the boats are gently swaying in the breeze. For me this is a moment of pure serenity, and a lovely place to read and drink tea.

Sometimes life gets a little hectic and you start to lose sight of what's really important, but moments like these bring you back. There are some big decisions I have to make in the next few weeks, but for now i'm just enjoying the moment.

I'm trying to be more mindful in the quiet, but I struggle to stop my mind going on its own journey. I gently nudge myself back to the present moment, and bring my thoughts back to the water. It really is a beautiful view. I can see an airplane flying above me, and seagulls circling around in search of food.

I love that whatever happens, I can rely on moments like these to centre me, and bring me peace. Moments of peace and happiness can be found all around you, if you're looking for them, but life often blocks them from view. Sometimes you just need to be reminded of that, because life's an uphill battle and it's all about the climb. (Miley Cyrus' song The Climb was playing this morning)

'  Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, when one only remembers to turn on the light.'

-Albus Dumbledore

Go for a walk, read a book, have a cup of your favourite tea, call a friend, do something that brings you a moment of peace and happiness in this tumultuous place we call life. It can get crazy, and hard, and scary sometimes, but find a way to keep coming back to a place the centres you and brings you peace.
